"For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror,
which we are still just able to endure, and we are so
awed because it serenely disdains to annihilate us."
~ Rainer Maria Rilke ~

.... the dragon's breath ....
to merge with the spirits and powers of the animals --
the strength of the tiger, the agility of the crane,
the wrapping steel cords of the snake,
the impenetrability of the dragon,
to sense the dragon's breath,
an energy has always pervaded my life
and travels, i have had some uncanny experiences
in my life, particularly, one that occurred several
years ago in britannia, the northern coast of france,
it was at the Mont Saint Michelle, actually, i had
taken a tour to the very depths of that castle, the
deepest oldest room in that ancient druidic stronghold,
a place of another age and time, i placed my hand upon
the altar, an ancient slab of stone, i spoke words, a solemn chant,
and within a bare few minutes, the cloudless sky darkened
to an almost nighttime shadow, rain fell in sheets of great
torrent, and this too, lasted a bare few minutes, and again,
the sky became a sun filled clear blue day, a strange blurry
form hovered to my feet as i exited the massive doorway,
it landed at my foot, and it was a dove, two twin little
boys appeared from nowhere, picked up the angelic bird,
and spirited her away, as i left the walled city, a
billowing dragonlike form from the distant horizon
appeared and moved across the land, in the car
driving away down the road, the serpent cloud
crossed my path and a wall of water washed
across me, my entire being was filled and
charged with an unfathomable wave of pure
unimaginable energy, i felt an age old power
amassing around me, within me, attuned to me,
to my very whisper, and the bare and simple
words i spoke upon that altar,
i spoke of a returning,
i spoke of coming home,
i spoke my own name,
arthur,
